At the front the old railings that had been re-installed on the new retaining wall had been tidied up. The drain pipes had been put back and the patio was ready for a barbecue (weather permitting). The black cloud was maybe an omen that the forecasts of a ‘barbecue summer’ would not be realised. In the field the remains of a bonfire had been removed.
